SUMMARY:
Candidates are being sought for a full time tenure track faculty position for Niagara University s Department of Nursing. A doctorally prepared nurse educator who has academic expertise in teaching acute and chronic disease management, and associated clinical skill sets for respective nursing interventions and in in-patient and out-patient settings is needed to support expansion of a BS completion for RNs, to include pre-licensure traditional 4 year program and an accelerated second degree program. As this and other initiatives are being launched, a person who is creative, flexible and enthusiastic is desired. Ability to articulate a research agenda or intent is also desired. Salary and rank will be determined commensurate with education and experience. A mid-spring 2012 start is anticipated.
Qualifications include Ph.D., Ed.D., DNP or other related doctorate; Masters of Science in nursing; active RN licensure in NYS; prior university level teaching experience; clinical expertise in acute and chronic disease nursing; creativity and ability to work independently, interdependently, and collaboratively.
Niagara University is a private liberal arts University in Western New York with a long history of educating nurses. The department is accredited by Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and approved by the New York State Education Department. Application deadline is December 15.
