We are searching for a Data Center Director who has the ability to manage a P&L, understands the critical pieces of the data center and willing to use their sales, client relationship, continuous improvement, and results driven personality to improve our clients Data Centers. Purpose:

Managing the infrastructure of our customer's data centers is a core value proposition in the technology vertical market. Our current footprint, track record and relationship with major customers in this space provides a competitive advantage to GWS in the market place.

This position will be on point to lead that transformation internally and externally. That transformation will consist of the following areas - governance model, very high standards of operational excellence, strategic planning, marketing & communications, successful realignment of the organization, development of commercial models, development of a SODC product road map and people management. Finally this position will operate globally driving the transformation in a collaborative way with every region and all key accounts impacted. It will be important this transformation has a positive impact on our current business model and is seen as positive advance in our capabilities internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

Governance: Establishment of the key business processes that ensure we meet the following objectives:

o Alignment and connection with Global CE initiative

o Strong processes around resolution of escalations, root cause analysis and overall operational excellence

o Alignment with GWS account management - specifically with integrated accounts. Alignment relates to internal as well as external coordination.

o Establish of best in class governance model which demonstrates our leadership in this area in the market place

Transformation: This role is directly accountable to ensure we are success in this transformation of our current business model. Success will be measured on the end result but also how it was accomplished. Ensuring buy in from all stake holders will generate an outcome that is long lasting. This person will be responsible for the tone and change management approach to this transformation. Including the external marketing & communications of this change to the market place. Specifically working to develop our value proposition and developing new channels of communications with the end result of positioning us a market place leader.

Strategic Planning: Developing & setting short and long term strategies for the SODC business. This will include establishing target markets, product road maps, benchmarking the market place overall. This responsibility is all about proactive planning to maintain our competitive advantage. Looking ahead, understanding where the market place is going and being several steps ahead in terms of our capabilities and performance.

Operational Excellence: Accountable for overall leadership of operational excellence. This area is a top priority for this leadership position. They must put in place operational procedures, processes, measurements and people that ensure we deliver to a very high standard which maintains our competitive advantage and establishes us as a leader without doubt. That includes best practice sharing and assurance that our standards and performance exceed the market place.

Product roadmap: A key component of success will be the development and execution of a product road map directly supporting this area of business. The developments in the market place around technology solutions and service offering is changing quickly. This role will be accountable for establishing our product road and then working within our enterprise organization to deliver the plan. This work will require significant collaboration around alignment & integration of strategies across business groups. The ability to articulate the value propositions & benefits to the corporation.

People: Accountable for the overall people health of the organization. This role will develop and set all account specific people management strategies for the following areas: Annual employee engagement survey results, annual performance reviews, and annual salary planning exercise. This role is responsible for the organization structure and roles & responsibilities within the LOB. Overall this person must have experience as a global people leader with very good communication and a high degree of collaborative skills at all levels of the organization

Marketing - Required increase the markets knowledge and perception of JCI as the global leader in providing Data Centre services. To represent JCI within the relevant professional bodies and to prepare and present case studies within the different regions.

P&L Measures: Accountable for the overall global financial success that SODC LOB contributes to accounts; including accurate benchmarking of different Tiered datacenter operational costs and maintaining a downward trend of downtime penalties incurred to JCI. They will be responsible for developing commercial models that provide returns comparable with the associated risks of the business.

Qualifications

Required:

* undergraduate degree preferably electrical engineering majors is required
* Ten plus years of progressive responsibility within a corporate real estate services organization, with a proven track record of providing datacenter/critical facility leadership to large, global organizations through matrix environments
* Significant knowledge base in corporate real estate or infrastructure management, sometimes referred to Facilities Management, Data Center, or Technical Support
* Proven experience as a business executive with sound technical, financial and general management skills and experience managing to metrics-oriented performance objectives
* Experience managing large, multi-service contracts at a minimum of $50 million or more in size, with proven experience managing to contractually obligated terms and conditions (we will consider those who manage multiple smaller multi-service contracts if thier total revenue of fixed and variable can reach $50M
* Strong design, construction, operation management experience, with a proven track record of creating clear and attainable performance objectives, leveraging resources to develop competitive solutions for the customer

Desired:

* An MBA is highly preferred
* Experience working with customers in the Technology industry vertical or comparable critical environments is preferred
* Data Center Certifications like Data Center Application Design/Support Specialist
* Electrical Engineering or electrician training, apprenticeship, experience and/or certification
* HVAC experience
* Ability to create a solution for a Data Center that manages the client Brand, client growth strategy, while trying to grow revenue through providing value solutions.
* The desire to be able to manage projects, teams and client relationships with little to no supervision
