Director of Nursing: The College of Mount Saint Vincent (Riverdale, New York) seeks an experienced Director of Nursing with a strong, student-centered focus, a demonstrated record of effective teaching, academic and current clinical expertise, and an earned doctorate in nursing or a closely related field. Appointment will begin July 1, 2012. This is a tenure eligible faculty position with 12 month administrative responsibilities. The Director must demonstrate a record of planning and implementing innovative programs and activities, and have at least ten years of full-time college faculty experience. Excellent organizational, supervisory, and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse student populations, faculty, and staff. The position requires vision, imagination, the ability to carry projects through to completion, knowledge of best practices in nursing education and higher education administration, and demonstrated success in writing and obtaining grants. The Director oversees the academic programs, faculty and staff in the Department of Nursing and works in partnership with the Dean of the Graduate School, the Dean of the Undergraduate College, the Provost/Dean of Faculty, and the other Department Chairs at the College. Additional responsibilities include teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate programs, advising and mentoring students, engaging in scholarly activities and participating in service activities. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.

Our beautiful 70-acre campus of rolling lawns and wooded hills overlooking the Hudson River is just 12 miles from midtown Manhattan. Our recently reaccredited (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)) Nursing program also offers courses at our Mid-Manhattan site (2nd Avenue between 64th and 65th street) and Nursing faculty teach at both locations.
