GENERAL SUPERVISOR, ELECTRICAL

Brookhaven National Laboratory is a nonprofit research and development institution whose purpose is to advance ideas and knowledge through a multidisciplinary program of basic and applied research. The Brookhaven Site Resources Division in conjunction with the Facilities and Operations Directorate currently has a full time opportunity for a General Supervisor, Electrical Trades.

Brookhaven National Laboratory is organized into five facility complexes responsible for the maintenance of 350+ buildings and the utilities that serve the site. Site Resources Division is responsible for the maintenance of the balance of the Brookhaven Site and provides matrixed Craft Resources and Supervision for the Craft Resources to the complexes.

Operation and Maintenance activities are performed in a manner to ensure they are always safe, reliable, efficient, green and mission-ready.

Responsibilities Include:

? Supervise Multi-Trade Supervisors both assigned to the Complexes and in the Core

? Fill in for Multi-Trade Supervisors as required

? Daily oversight of, assignment, training, scheduling, grievance handling, mentoring and technical direction to Multi-Trade Supervisors

? Maintain records and prepare reports on work performed, Work Planning and Control, Morning Meetings, attendance and performance.

? Provide recommendations for continuous improvement to Division Management

? Manage maintenance of the Laboratory Fire Alarm System

Required experience:

? Fifteen (15) years work experience as a master journeyman electrician in a maintenance environment including a minimum:

* Ten (10) years as an electrical supervisor/general superintendent managing the maintenance of large scale industrial/commercial facilities with modern and legacy electrical infrastructure.
* Through knowledge/ experience in the use of Maintenance Management software tools for managing predictive, preventative and routine electrical/building maintenance

? Broad knowledge of large scale Fire Alarm systems; troubleshooting, software, hardware such as Andover Continuum, Siemens XLS and Simplex 4100U panels

? Familiarity with current electrical codes and standards including: NEC, NESC, NFPA 70-E and OSHA.

? Proven experience leading Multi-Trade Supervisors in both conventional and matrixed environments

Preferred experience:

? Associate ??s degree or technical institute certification

? Extensive experience with MRO software ? IBM-Maximo
