Advertised Summary Job Description This is a temporary position for approximately 6 months.

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources of the Earth Institute (EI), the incumbent is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day human resource activities of the office. The Coordinator works with the Director and Managers on building interdepartmental and institute relationships to ensure proper processing procedures are developed and executed as well as assuring adherence to established EI and University policies. S/he is responsible for updating the EI on-line staff directory and organizational charts as well as the preparation of monthly personnel reports including open position, unit headcounts and changes in staffing levels. The incumbent will arrange for employee access to EI databases and keep department personnel files current. S/he assists the Director and Managers in the preparation and posting of materials related to recruitment , hiring and appointments of administrative and research staff in all units of the EI and provides new employees with basic information related to working at the University. S/he will assist the Managers in the preparation of visa information for the International Students and Scholars Office. The incumbent will respond to queries from the EI Finance Unit and center managers regarding compensation levels and dates of hire for individuals and/or unit staff. S/he will assist in obtaining the approvals and the system entry of additional compensation requests. The incumbent will work with the CU Employment Office to hire casual employees for various centers in the Earth Institute. S/he will also assist in the hiring of all student officers, and student casuals for EI. All other related duties as assigned by the Director, Human Resources, Earth Institute.
