Advertised Summary Job Description Medical Services, a unit of Columbia Health is currently recruiting for a Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant performs routine clerical and clinical work in a student health center assisting physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses in the delivery of patient care. General responsibilities include: directing and assisting patients, taking vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height; clean and sterilize instruments and monitoring and maintaining medical equipment. The Medical Assistant must be able to anticipate provider and patient needs; follow prescribed procedures and maintain established standards. The Medical Assistant also assists clinical staff in responding to medical emergencies.
