The Interior Designer's main responsibility is to assist design principals and/or senior designers to design and document through presentation and construction drawings. Designers will be creating concept sketches, image boards, plan studies, test fits, material palettes and rendered views and models in Revit. 
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain a line of communication and a collaborative working relationship with the AECOM Leadership team
  • Assist with presentation materials – renderings, material palette, and other presentation visuals 
  • Mentor and coach staff for growth
  • Assist with developing / maintaining resource library vendor contacts and relevant content

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design and 4+ years of related experience, including demonstrated success as a project designer on a range of interiors project types or demonstrated equivalency of education/experience
  • Experience with all phases of the project, including pre-design through construction administration
  • Working knowledge of contract interiors FF+E market in the NY Metro region
  • Experience in documenting FF+E specifications and experience establishing budget and monitor procurement process of FF+E working with major manufacturer dealers
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
  • Ability to communicate design concept and intent through various media is critical both to the internal team as well as with clients
  • Self-starter and work on multiple project teams
  • Able to work in a complex team structure
  • Proficiency in Revit, ACAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up or other 3D modeling software
  • Ability to accommodate some regional domestic travel


Preferred Qualifications
  • Corporate interior experience through all phases including large scale (150,000+ sq. feet) in the NY Metro region
  • LEED Accreditation  a plus
  • RA, NCIDQ or CID preferred  or in the process or obtaining
  • Planning ability
