    Canon U. S. A., Inc. is currently seeking a Data Security Analyst (Analyst, Data Security) to join our corporate HQ in Melville, NY.  Researches, plans and evaluates the effectiveness of processes, systems, procedures or methodologies through review and evaluation of detailed data. A developing professional, working towards full proficiency in the job role. Receives general instruction from manager on expected work outcomes and exercises good judgment in day-to-day matters. Typically reports to a Manager or Senior Manager, but may report to a senior professional individual contributor when business needs dictate.


    - Establish the Canon Americas baseline standards for information security and privacy. Coordinate cross-divisional efforts to reduce risks associated with the loss, corruption or unauthorized disclosure of confidential or private information
    - Work with the manager of the department to determine key risks as they affect Canon’s sharing of data with vendors and provide recommendation for mitigation of those risks
    - Provide recommendations and consultative services to IT and applicable operating groups (divisions, subsidiaries, etc.) to develop and implement appropriate procedures and internal controls that comply with policy standards
    - Serve as a technical liaison between departments ensuring business objectives are clearly understood
    - Provide creative ways to automate redundant tasks or processes
    - Develop and implement information security awareness as necessary and report information security readiness to management
    - Produce compelling and creative presentations for Executive viewing
    - Provide presentations on topics related to Information Security and risks
    - Provide consultation to the Legal Division as it pertains to privacy/data protection when writing contracts (a plus)


    - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 3 to 5 years of relevant experience is required.
    - Ability to research an information security topic, come up with solutions and present this topic to others
    - Must have project management leadership abilities and be able to communicate and interact well at all levels of the organization
    - Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
    - Must be detail oriented
    - Good knowledge of current technologies
    - Security Certifications (a plus)
    - Knowledge of ISO standards, HIPAA , PCI (a plus)
    - Excellent knowledge of Powerpoint and Sharepoint (a plus)
    - Web/graphics design (a plus)
