    In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx our teams handle more than 156,000 outpatient visits, more than 50,000 emergency room visits and more than 7,500 admissions annually in the 232-bed facility. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with the James J. Peters VA Medical Center.


    The Department of Emergency Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center and its sister institution, North Central Bronx (NCB) Hospital are recruiting for a Chief of Emergency Services at North Central Bronx Hospital.

    The Chief of Emergency Services - NCB will run day to day Emergency Department operations and will be charged with assuring high-quality patient centered clinical care, creating efficient patient flow, providing meaningful professional development for staff and serving the needs of the community. The Chief will focus on improving operational metrics and patient satisfaction scores as well as position the ED and hospital for success in the changing healthcare environment. The Chief will ensure the education and professional development of a fantastic Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant group.

    The Chief will be a faculty member of the larger Department of Emergency Medicine at Jacobi and North Central Bronx; will have clinical privileges on both campuses, as well as a faculty appointment at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The Chief will work clinically at both clinical sites. There will be expectations to participate in the educational and academic mission of the Jacobi / Montefiore EM Residency Program and the Medical School. Affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Jacobi is one of the premiere Emergency Medicine Residency training programs in the country. The Residency Program has 84 Emergency Medicine residents (21 per year) and has programs in Hyperbarics, Ultrasound, Simulation, and Trauma.

    North Central Bronx Emergency Department treats over 45,000 Adult and Pediatric patients annually. The Adult NCB ED has 18 acute care rooms with telemetry monitoring with dedicated gynecologic emergency and asthma treatment areas. NCB has a separate Psychiatric Emergency Department and Pediatric Attendings work in the ED at all times.


    Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal, administrative and team building skills; as well as a track record of success in ED operations, quality and safety. Must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
